Last spring, a man in Minneapolis was walking to his mailbox when he was approached by a Minneapolis police officer. The officer was carrying a machine gun as he was carrying out a warrant for a apartment in the area. For some reason the man was punched and later hit by a baton. The man needed two brain surgeries because of a subdural hematoma. This past week, the Minneapolis City Council approved a settlement.

Initially, the case lead to a number of questions as to what happened. the man was charged with no crime. There has been allegations that the officer latter falsified his report as to what happened.

See your doctor if you have been seriously injured. These type of cases it can involve insurance issues that involve governmental immunities and municipal caps. Please keep in mind that there may be time limits within which you must commence suit.

I seen this man interviewed on TV and hopefully he is doing better. This is a very odd and disturbing story and hopefully nothing like this happens again anytime soon.

Very interesting article! I have worked on many cases involving some very questionable situations involving police use of force.

This happens more than people would think. That being said the majority of the officers out there are ding the best job they can in some very turbulent neighborhoods.

I agree for the most part Police do the best job they can. This case shouldn't have happened and I agree, I hope he improves more. Thanks to both of you for the comments and taking the time to read my post.
